Anyway, the sisters have recently launched the newest product attached to their names. They have a line of handbags now and it’s exclusively released at Sear’s. The girls have been chosen to endorse the handbags and willingly sealed their names with it because they’re pretty much bagistas themselves and have closets full of designer handbag collections.

However, I doubt if they are truly involved with the design of their Kardashian Kollection, because if they were, something like this would’ve not slipped off their hands.

The first bag to the left is Botkier’s Clyde handbag. The one on the right is the design from the Kardashian Kollection.

These girls tote around Botkiers in Hollywood (aside from their LV’s, their Hermes, and all those other name brands). So, they must be so aware of which designs go with what brand.

But Botkier has claimed, the particular Kardashian handbag in the photo is a direct rip-off of their own design. Botkier even posted a blog about this claim and is mulling over reporting this to the CFDA.

Sears was quick to act on this and removed the actual handbag in contention from their website. It’s no longer up for sale. It’s interesting to see how this will develop. Guess someone’s already trying to solve this matter.

It’s not the first time the Kardashian sisters had their name endorsing a product only to pull out of the deal when something comes up wrong. They’re currently in a legal battle with a credit card company for another endorsement deal that didn’t fully deliver.

Botkier Klaims Kardashian Handbag Kopied Their Kouture Design

In fact, here’s an old photo of hers while pregnant and carrying an LV.

The actress is said to have closed a $10Million contract with the bag brand and would soon be gracing magazine pages for the Louis Vuitton summer print ads. Annie Liebowitz is said to be hired to shoot the campaign.

Incidentally, a report from Millward Brown Optimor released this week reaffirms the position of Louis Vuitton as one of the Ten Most Powerful Luxury Brands. It retains its number spot, as the brand also was regarded as Top 1 last year.

In a conference call with investors, LVMH finance director Jean-Jacques Guiony said business is holding so far, even if growth was not as brisk as earlier this year. LVMH reported a 4.5 percent increase in sales for the first nine months of the year to 11.96 billion euros, or $17.94 billion.

He said Louis Vuitton last week logged retail sales growth of 12 percent. His comments helped send LVMH stock surging into positive territory after trading in the red for most of the day. Shares in the French luxury firm closed up 2.2 percent as the overall CAC40 index of top French companies lost close to 10 percent.

Guiony said LVMH sales in September were relatively strong after some weakness in August, particularly in Asia, which LVMH attributed to a disruption in its Chinese business linked to the Olympic Games. He said the U.S. was holding up, as well.

“I didn’t say September was fantastic,” stressed Guiony. “But it was much better than August and more or less in line with July.”

Despite uncertainty about the future market, Guiony painted an overall confident picture for the resilience of luxury sales.

I have to say I’m not exactly jumping for these new line. What happened here?  Designer Marc Jacobs went with an African inspired collection but the tribal chic look is lost on me, especially since I see similar bags like these at thrift stores.
