Mary Katrantzou is a London-based designer whose work has been featured in Topshop’s clothing line and is slowly carving her niche in the fashion world. As a student of design, she has received numerous awards and recognition for her creative work. She is known for her exclusive prints, which are always fascinating and amazing. And this particular talent has landed her a collaboration with French bag brand Longchamp.

The designer and Longchamp are coming up with her collection for Spring 2012 and these are just some of what the designs are:

The idea is sort of a mash-up, or of East-meets-West…but I’d like to think that Mary Katrantzou gave it her own interpretation and the use of color is definitely complementary!

These handbags will be out for sale at Colette’s by the end of January.

Here are a couple of photos from the Milan Runway, featuring Prada’s Spring Fashion Bag Line.

Prada is going with the crumpled look, which is also seen in their clothing line next season. Not quite sure if I’m loving it. It is looks Bohemian and may be a style not a lot of people can carry.
