I understand ribbons or bows are back in style. While I’d normally stay away from that trend because I’m not nine years old anymore, I think differently when it comes to this bag from Botkier.
Without the bow and maybe the locket, too, the bag will definitely look all plain and business-like. And that’s just boring, no style at all.
Bows are back in season. Bows on a bag? That’s not something I’m fond of but when designed inconspicuously, then maybe I’ll give it a second look, such a this clutch from Be and D. Bow designs can be too overpowering, too attention grabbing, too cutesy. It helps that the bag is in an almost brown shade (it’s actually deep purple) that it can easily blend in with whatever I’m wearing.

Cute and pretty —- it’s what comes to my mind as soon as I saw this bag from Versace. The black one, though offers a lot more sophistication, this pink, the sweetness. Bows usually are distracting to me, but this doesn’t seem to be out of place nor over the top.
Wide swaths of supple leather, some with trapunto stitching, create a charming, logo-topped bow on the front of a slightly slouchy double-handled satchel.
Do you like Prada’s Spring 2009 handbag collection? They have retired the laces, which was part of their Fall 2008, and have gone to bows and ribbons. Lots of it. It’s feminine and at the same time, the snakeskin material also makes it fierce and edgy. I like the third bag the best.
