Rebecca Minkoff’s The Jet Setter

Screen Shot 2011-10-19 at 10.01.44 AM

A friend of mine has been meaning to get a bag that will become her go-to bag. It’s the kind that she will have to be carrying all the time and it has to be versatile enough for wearing during days when she has to work or days when she just wants to shop, visit the mall or be with friends over the weekend.

The bag has to be roomy and functional, but at the same time, my friend didn’t want to sacrifice style for function. Luckily, there are plenty of bags like that these days, but I told her to check out this bag from Rebecca Minkoff, as I think it will fit her requiremen

The Cambridge Satchel Co. Patterned Handbags

Screen Shot 2011-08-10 at 6.35.38 AM

I’m glad I got over my obsession for school bag satchels, which is why I didn’t get the handbag when Cambridge Satchels was the rage a couple of months back. The novelty of it got old for me pretty quickly. And seeing as a lot of people have been donning their Cambridge Satchels and look-a-likes everywhere, it was time to pick another design that didn’t look like the bag everyone was carrying.

I guess, Cambridge Satchel also thought it was time to update their famous handbag’s design with this limited release of the Cambridge Satchel with patterns.

I think I’m one of those people who haven’t been really crazy about Longchamp handbags. See, they sell out because the bag is one of the most convenient ways to carry stuff around, even when traveling, or rather, especially when traveling.

Originally designed for something to unfold and carry while you’re on a holiday, the Longchampa handbag is really very handy. Because it can be folded up, you can squeeze this in your luggage and then unfold and use as a handbag when you’re checking sites, museums and attractions in another place.

Eventually though, i

Two Fabulous Nautically Inspired Handbags

When I think of summer, I think of nautically inspired fashion, with colors like navy, red and white dominating the wardrobe. Even handbags, this style becomes quite a bit trendy during the season that I would have to consider it as a classic style choice for the summer.

Nautically inspired handbags represent what playful summer is about — a time to relax at the beach, or go picnicking, swimming at the lake, or cruising on the yacht. It’s a time for celebrations like the 4th of July or Labor Day.

Nothing says “nautical” any more than a handbag with an i

Emerging Handbag Designer: Ismachseven

Screen shot 2011-04-15 at 9.07.20 AM

I saw a photo of one of Ismachseven’s bag designs in a friend’s iPhone file. She snapped this while she saw this in a shop in Florida and has been keeping it on her phone to serve as inspiration. The bag looks really gorgeous and so I got curios when she told me to check out Ismachseven’s collections online.

And on their official site, I saw some of these designs:

Bag Trend Spring 2011: Colorblocking

Screen shot 2011-03-14 at 8.48.38 AM

One thing I love about spring fashion is that it’s okay to get wild and crazy over colors and designs and not look odd or weird wearing it this way. And this year, it’s particularly interesting because even handbags are going the way of colorblocking.

Colorblocking has dominated spring fashion lines in the past, except that it’s been mostly applied to clothes. But now it’s also on handbags and recent runway shows have presented quite an interesting selection for it.
